The Artist Behind Dried in Thyme

About Erin

Erin Skeer is a Central Oregon artist whose work brings together a lifelong interest in fashion, design and the natural beauty of flowers.‍ ‍Her creative eye was shaped in part by years spent near New York City, where vintage clothing, jewelry, museums and the endless variety of personal style became an inspiration. Although she has no formal training in art or fashion design, Erin has always been drawn to creating, arranging and finding unexpected beauty in the details.

After retiring and moving to Central Oregon, Erin finally had the time to explore those creative interests more fully. What began as experimenting with dried and pressed flowers evolved into a distinctive art form of her own—combining her sketches and designs with real flowers, leaves and other natural elements to create dimensional, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each original is individually created and paired with a repurposed frame, often allowing the character of the frame itself to help inspire the finished work.

“I’m still amazed and humbled that people want to bring my art into their homes. It’s truly an honor.”

The Art

Erin combines illustration with real dried and pressed flowers to create dimensional, one-of-a-kind works of art.

Natural materials become clothing, landscapes, patterns and unexpected details, giving each piece its own texture, color and character.

Every original is unique.

Erin may revisit a favorite subject or design, but the flowers, composition and presentation are never duplicated. Each finished work is paired with a repurposed frame—sometimes the artwork inspires the frame, and sometimes an unusual vintage frame becomes the inspiration for the art itself.
